This building constitutes another of the unique public buildings of Écija. Its construction is part of an ambitious construction plan, the last third of the sixteenth century, for the supply of water to the town. In the writing of the project is the architect Hernán Ruíz.

Of the remains that are conserved of the building, we highlight the cover, of Mannerist design and with arch of voussoir access topped by a frieze on which the royal arms flanked by the shield of Écija and a cartela.
